  • Microblading is a semi-permanent cosmetic tattooing technique used to enhance the appearance of eyebrows. It involves using a specialized tool with fine needles to manually implant pigment into the skin, creating hair-like strokes that mimic natural eyebrow hairs. The process allows for precise shaping, filling in sparse areas, and achieving a more defined brow look.

Typically, microblading results in a fuller and more polished eyebrow, and the effects can last anywhere from one to three years, depending on skin type, aftercare, and other factors. Before the procedure, a consultation is usually conducted to discuss the desired outcome and select the appropriate color and shape to suit the individual's facial features. After the initial treatment, a touch-up session is often recommended to perfect the results and ensure longevity. Proper aftercare is essential to maintain the appearance and prevent complications such as fading or infection.

  • The process goes far beyond finding the right artist. It's just as important to determine whether your skin is fit and ready to be tattooed. From your age, sensitivity to the condition and quality of your skin, a lot goes into the safety and effectiveness of the microblading process. As artists, our goal is always to ensure that you receive the best possible results from your treatment. This is heavily reliant on your skin being healthy, strong, and calm.

Unfortunately, pre-existing skin conditions and skin treatments can heavily compromise the effectiveness of microblading, leaving both you and your brow artist in an unfavorable situation. So, before you go ahead and book your appointment, read the list in the next tab to find out if microblading is for you.

  • Under 18

Microblading cannot be administered on anyone under 18, even with parental permission.

Women who are pregnant or nursing

Hormonal changes can make the body more susceptible to infections. Your skin might change, and outcomes can vary.

    Allergic to metal and color

Small needles and pigments used for microblading can contain some metals and colorant.

    Skin conditions

Skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, keratosis palaris, dermatitis, chronic acne, and/or rosacea.

    Oily skin and/or large pores

Very oily skin and/or larges pores and textured skin.

    Diabetic

Individuals who are diabetic and do not have diabetes under control may have a difficult time healing.

    Chemotherapy

    Currently undergoing chemotherapy or radiation.

    Sun damage or tanned skin

    Accutane/tretinoin/retinol/AHAs

No retinol, tretinoin or AHAs for four weeks prior as it heightens skin sensitivity, making the brow area more prone to irritation and redness.

Accutane must be discontinued for one year prior to treatment. Accutane alters the skin and makes it thin, dry, and sensitive. It also weakens your immune system.

    Epilepsy

Have epilepsy and are at risk of having a seizure during appointment.

    Viral infections and/or diseases

The risk of developing an infection is higher in people with compromised immune system.

    Blood thinning medication

    Very mature skin

Skin that is too thin and delicate for microblading can heal blotchy or dark.

    Previous permanent makeup

Previous permanent makeup that is oversaturated in the skin, has unwanted color and/or has blurred together.

    Heart problems or pacemaker

  • A microblading consultation involves a comprehensive assessment of your eyebrows and a discussion of your personal preferences. During this initial meeting, the technician will evaluate your natural brow shape, skin type, and desired look, ensuring that all aspects are taken into consideration. Additionally, they will explain the microblading process in detail, including the techniques used, aftercare tips, and what to expect during and after the procedure. This is an essential step to guarantee that you feel comfortable and informed before proceeding.

  • Does microblading replace brow makeup?

Microblading is not a full replacement for brow makeup. Although it can be for some, it isn’t for those who fill in their eyebrows heavily. Microblading is very soft and natural-looking once healed and is intended to look like hair, not makeup.

    How long does Microblading last?

Microblading treatment is considered semi-permanent, will fade over time and will need a touch-up every 1-2 years to maintain. Results will vary from client to client. Frequency of touch-ups depends on a number of factors including: skin type (oily skin fade faster), pigment color used, sun exposure and use of daily anti-aging products.

    Is Microblading painful?

Every person has a different pain tolerance. Discomfort is minimal with numbing cream.

What is the Microblading process like?

Microblading typically takes two appointments to complete. In the first appointment, the client is profiled and the eyebrows are drawn on with a waterproof pencil, so the Artist and client can agree on the look. The Artist then microblades the eyebrows and the client is ready to go back into the world. There is some mild scabbing and aftercare required, but your Microblading should be completely healed in 30 days.

The second appointment is a touch up at least 30 days after the first session. This allows enough time for the ink in the epidermis to naturally slough off, and the color to settle into your skin. In the touch up appointment, the Artist can see how your skin has received the ink and make any necessary corrections.

Sometimes a client’s skin undertones may have unexpected effects on the ink’s color, and the artist may need to add color to adjust. These kind of corrections are normal with any Microblading Artist and an essential part of the process, as everyone’s skin is different and receives ink differently.

How long is the Microblading appointment?

Within two hours you will have a full brow transformation. Much of the time is spent measuring and drawing on a symmetrical set of brows creating your perfect shape. The actual procedure takes about 30-45 minutes. The touch up appointment will take about an hour.

  • A complimentary touchup will done at least six weeks after the initial appointment. Minor adjustments should be expected. Annual touch-ups, also known as maintenance or refresh appointments, are important to keep your microbladed eyebrows looking their best.
